LEWIS JAYNES
Outreach Activities
While at Clemson University, I participated in a fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI), along with the Spanish Club. Within my fraternity, I had leadership roles such as New Member Educator and Mental Health Chairman. I was elected by the rest of our chapter to serve and lead within these positions.
FIJI
Within my fraternity, I was able to put myself in positions of leadership, having been the New Member Educator and Mental Health Chairman. As New Member Educator, I helped our new members to learn the history of the fraternity whilst helping them with their academics. As Mental Health Chairman, I held bi-weekly meetings that allowed brothers to come and talk about their struggles in life both inside and outside of the classroom. It was a great opportunity to check in on everybody and make sure that spirits were high!

Clemson Spanish Club

While at Clemson University, the Spanish Club has provided a supportive community of like-minded individuals where we had the opportunity to practice speaking, listening, and writing in Spanish. Club activities such as language exchange sessions, cultural events, and workshops offered a better understanding of Spanish culture and customs. Additionally, there were guest speakers and educational resources available through the club to help deepen knowledge and fluency in the language. Overall, the Spanish Club was a valuable platform to improve language skills, build friendships, and immerse each other in the Spanish-speaking world.
