SPAN 3020: Intermediate Spanish Grammar and Composition

Taught fully in Spanish, this class was an intensive review of Spanish structure, verbs, idioms, and vocabulary with an introduction to syntax and stylistics through controlled and free composition. This class was very helpful to building a strong linguistic base.
SPAN 3060: Spanish Composition for Business

Taught fully in Spanish, this course was intensive practice of business writing skills through compositions, a general review of gramatical structure, along with exposure to business vocabulary and concepts.
SPAN 3160: Spanish for International Business I

Also taught fully in Spanish, this course was an introduction to commercial Spanish; study of the spoken and written language, protocol, and cultural environment of the Spanish-speaking business world. Business vocabulary, basic business and cultural concepts, and situational practice were emphasized in the classroom by group work.
SPAN 4160: Spanish for International Business II

Taught fully in Spanish, this was the last Spanish Course required for LAIB Majors. This course included the study of more complex business vocabulary, cultural concepts, and environment of Hispanic markets. Social, political, and economic issues related to Spanish-speaking countries and their current economies in global marketing. Economic geography of Hispanic countries, company organization, management, banking, investment, goods and services, and marketing.

SPAN 3070: The Hispanic World: Spain

This class was an introduction to the significant aspects of the culture of Spain from its origins to the present. It emphasized the artistic, social, historical, political, and contemporary issues of the Iberian Peninsula.
SPAN 3080: The Hispanic World: Latin America

This class was an introduction to the significant aspects of the culture of Spanish-American countries. Emphasis was placed on the development of the political, economical, geographical, social, and artistic aspects of Spanish America from the indigenous period to the present. This class helped prepare myself for my study abroad.
SPAN 4090: Comprehensive Writing in Spanish (Argentina)

This course was an advanced writing class that I took during my study abroad. We completed essays regarding cultural aspects of Argentina, along with a research paper based upon a film we watched in class.
SPAN 3110: Survey of Spanish-American Literature (Argentina)

Having taken this while studying abroad, it was very essential to learning the historical context of Latin America in which we studied literary movements, influences, authors, and works from the Colonial period to the present.

ACCT 2010: Financial Accounting Concepts

This course was an introduction to accounting principles where I learned and understood the use of financial data and analysis of financial statements.
ECON 2110: Principles of Microeconomics

In this course, I was introduced to economic reasoning and its application to the study of the behavior of consumers and business firms. Particular topics included competition, monopoly, international trade, and the impact of selected public policies.
ECON 2120: Principles of Macroeconomics

This class carried on from ECON 2110 in which fundamental economic principles were applied to the study of aggregate economic performance. Topics from our professor included the forces determining the rates of inflation, unemployment, and economic growth, with particular emphasis on the influence of fiscal and monetary policies through financial markets.
ECON 3020: Money and Banking

In this course we focused on the function of money and banking in both product and financial markets. Special emphasis was placed on monetary theory and current problems of monetary policy.
ECON 3100: International Economics

This class was essential to my knowledge and we studied the process of international commerce. We also covered basic theory of trade and exchange rates, institutional and legal environment, current policy issues.
MATH 1020: Business Calculus I

This class was an intuitive approach to the concepts and applications of calculus. Topics included functions and graphing, differentiation, and integration. Applications from social, biological, and management sciences were presented while using business scenarios and calculus.
MATH 2070: Business Calculus II

A follow-up of Math 1020, in this class I was introduced to the calculus of several variables, differential calculus, along with the optimization of several variables and integrals. We used topics from management sciences to illustrate the calculus concepts.
MKT 3010: Principles of Marketing

This class was an introduction to the concept of marketing for myself in which we studied principles and concepts involved in planning, pricing, promoting, and distributing of goods and services.
MKT 3020: Consumer Behavior

In this class, I examined both selected individual and group behavioral science concepts and their application to the understanding of consumer decision making.
MKT 4270: International Marketing

In this class, we studied marketing from an international point of view. There was a significant emphasis on the necessary modifications of marketing thinking and practice for foreign markets due to individual environmental differences.
MGT 4230: International Business Management

This was a very interesting class, in which throughout the semester we surveyed theoretical and institutional complexities of international business operations. We learned about exporting, importing, foreign investments, and multinational corporations.
MGT 2010: Principles of Management

This was an introduction to the role that management plays as a factor of economic production. We learned about the functions of management, principles of organization, and behavior in organizations.

This course was about safety aspects and different liabilities that are present in areas of recreation or within the workplace. I very much enjoyed this course because it prepared me for my summer job a few years back as a camp counselor.
HIST 3110: African American History to 1877

This class was very interesting. In this course, we learned about different important historical moments for African Americans. We read novels and biographies about significant historical figures.
POSC 1020: Introduction to International Relations

In this course, we klearned about how different countries maintain and imporove their relationships with each other. We examined the different committees acros nations and how they affect the world as a whole.
